To actively respond to the Belt and Road Initiative, deepen vocational education cooperation with Vietnam and Malaysia, and support the intelligent transformation of the regional transportation industry, President Li Wenyong recently led a delegation to visit Vietnam and Malaysia. Centered on the mission of developing the "China-ASEAN Innovation and Cooperation Center for AI in Transportation," a series of exchange activities were carried out to promote the Center's progress in ASEAN countries.

Building the Vietnam branch and empowering transportation talent development with AI

During the visit to Vietnam, in-depth exchanges were held with institutions such as the University of Transport Technology in Vietnam, Hanoi College, and Ho Chi Minh City Polytechnic College (formerly Dong An Polytechnic College). All parties held detailed discussions on the application scenarios of transportation AI in Vietnam. Additionally, a ceremony was held to inaugurate the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech College branch of the China-ASEAN Innovation and Cooperation Center for AI in Transportation. All parties unanimously agreed to actively promote the application of AI technologies such as virtual simulation, digital twins, and large-scale transportation models in Vietnam, in order to support the development of Vietnam's local transportation industry and talent cultivation.

Advancing the construction of the China-Malaysia Intelligent Transportation Laboratory and establishing a solid foundation for the implementation of intelligent transportation cooperation

In Malaysia, the delegation visited the transportation engineering company Protasco Berhad. The group recognized China's achievements in the research and development of intelligent transportation technology, expressed its desire to strengthen cooperation, and hoped to promote the application of artificial intelligence technology from China in Malaysia's transportation sector. Subsequently, the delegation inspected the site of the China-Malaysia Intelligent Transportation Laboratory at Kuala Lumpur University of Science and Technology (KLUST), and held several rounds of in-depth consultations with KLUST. Together with Guangxi Transportation Science and Technology Group and KLUST, they finalized the laboratory's construction plan, timeline, and operation support scheme, and held an inauguration ceremony for the China-Malaysia Joint Laboratory for Smart Construction, Management and Maintenance of Transport Infrastructure. This has laid a solid foundation for expanding transportation technology R&D and services in Malaysia, leveraging the China-Malaysia Intelligent Transportation Laboratory.
